Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Thursday, July 1 at 10:30 a.m., Ghirardelli Associates joined the  San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) and the City of Alameda for a ribbon cutting celebration at the new Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal in Alameda.

The Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal is a new ferry terminal in Alameda Point, formerly known as the Alameda Naval Air Station. The new ferry terminal was designed to alleviate anticipated congestion and to support the City of Alameda’s growing population.

The project also includes public access and parking improvements with new bicycle and pedestrian pathways, transit passenger drop-off areas and other public amenities such as picnic tables and drinking fountains.

WETA, the City of Alameda, Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) worked together to coordinate the ferry schedule with bus and San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) schedules to make the commute more efficient. The coordination resulted in a new bus line that runs from the Fruitvale BART station to the Ferry Terminal through the middle of Alameda.

Ghirardelli Associates is proud to support the City of Alameda and the San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) for the successful completion of the Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal!
