This project aims to transform the existing 44-acre Tanforan Shopping Center in San Bruno, CA, into a transit-oriented mixed-use village. The plan includes retaining and upgrading the Target store and modernizing the Century at Tanforan movie theater to enhance the movie-going experience. Proposed future uses for the site include a 2-million-square-foot innovative life sciences campus, 1,014 housing units, both private and publicly accessible open spaces that are privately owned, and 86,250 square feet of modernized retail space. The project’s substantial residential component will also contribute to the City’s efforts to meet its State-mandated Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) obligations.
