Safe Routes to School – Cycle 1 Street Improvements – Richmond, CA
CLIENT: City of Richmond
The Safe Routes to School Cycle 1 Improvements Project provides enhanced pedestrian safety near Ford, Grant, King, and Lincoln elementary schools in Richmond, as improvements were made to asphalt and concrete infrastructure, including installing in-roadway lights, constructing ADA-compliant curb ramps, installing pavement striping and markings, and erecting safety signs.
Ghirardelli Associates managed this construction project in accordance with LAPM requirements and coordinated with multiple parties, some of which include: Utilities (PG&E, AT&T, EBMUD, Richmond Sewer District, etc.), Transit (AC Transit, the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit, aka BART, and other agencies that use the Richmond BART station), businesses (e.g. Hilltop Mall and other hilltop area businesses, via local business association, Chamber of Commerce, or neighborhood association), Stakeholders (Richmond Fire, Richmond Police, Caltrans).
