Placer County Development Services: Bickford Ranch Development Projects

Bickford Ranch Development is a 1,928-acre master planned community that will provide new residential homes, parks, public and private facilities and open space. Ghirardelli provides construction inspection services for Phase 1 which includes both onsite and offsite improvements. Our inspection staff verifies the plans and specifications that are being followed, prepares daily inspection reports with photographs, and attends the contractor’s daily safety meeting. The team works closely with stakeholders such as Placer County (Environmental Engineering), Placer County Water Association, Caltrans, City of Lincoln, City of Roseville, and PG&E. On the Rough Grade Phase 1 Improvements, Ghirardelli oversees the grading of 1,000,000 CY of cut and fill with an estimated 43,000 CY of export material. Other work includes tree removal, erosion control, encroachment pavement, and drainage systems. There is also heavy coordination with Placer County Water Agency as they re-route and underground Caperton Canal. On the Phase 1 Backbone Infrastructure projects, work included a sewer lift station where we oversee the foundation installation, all underground utilities that tie into the lift station as well as the larger components that are involved with the building of the station. Additional onsite work included the construction of rock walls and basalite block walls. On the offsite SR-193 and Sierra College Boulevard projects, we observed the excavation and installation of the sewer main line and connections to City of Lincoln’s existing sewer main line. This included blasting to excavate through areas of dense rock. Work also included installation of storm drain with flared end sections, paving, striping, and traffic control.
