Monument Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project

This $4.1 million project enhances roadway and pedestrian infrastructure, improves traffic flow and safety, and ensures compliance with stormwater pollution control measures across designated areas. This project involves mobilization, traffic control, storm water pollution control, clearing and grubbing, tree trimming, asphalt concrete grinding and removal, asphalt concrete installation, and rubberized asphalt concrete (AC) installation. Additionally, the project includes asphalt dig-out repairs, lowering and restoring utility covers to grade, survey monument adjustments, and improvements to concrete curb ramps and sidewalks at select locations. The scope also covers the relocation of pedestrian pushbuttons, application of traffic striping and markings. Ghirardelli was responsible for providing comprehensive construction management services, including a Resident Engineer to oversee the project, manage contractor relations, enforce schedules, track budgets, and ensure quality control. Ghirardelli provided project administration, including coordinating meetings, handling submittals and RFIs, and managing progress payments; conducting inspections and material testing to ensure compliance with plans and specifications; facilitating public outreach and communication with stakeholders; and overseeing post-construction activities such as reviewing closeout documents, performing warranty reviews, and providing a final project report.
