- State Route 99 Atwater Widening Project (Atwater, CA) – The purpose of the $62 million project located on Highway 99, was to widen and reconstruct the existing pavement to 3 lanes in the northbound and southbound directions by installing continuously reinforced concrete pavement and hot mix asphalt. The project included complex traffic handling and staging necessary to complete the work. Ghirardelli provided inspection of the contractor’s work to monitor compliance with the contract plans and specifications.
- State Route 4 and 5 Crosstown Improvements Project (Stockton, CA) – This $28 million project included operational improvements to the roadway and ramps along State Routes 4 and 5 in Stockton. - State Route 140 Slope Repair (Briceburg, CA) – Ghirardelli provided the Assistant Resident Engineer for this $4.5 million slope repair and guardrail project. This project repaired the steep, rocky slope beneath an 84-inch, reinforced, concrete pipe culvert along State Route 140 near the community of Briceburg. The outflow from the culvert over the years had eroded the slope, so rock slope protection and guard railing that meets current standards were installed. Ghirardelli’s Assistant Resident Engineer worked closely with the contractor to expeditiously complete the project and not affect the driving public or access to Yosemite National Park.
