Bay Trail – Vine Trail Gap Closure Project

The Vallejo Road Rehabilitation Project spans nine locations, improving roadways for motorists and creating a five-mile safe trail network to the Vallejo Ferry Terminal. Coordinated efforts with Caltrans, PG&E, and Union Pacific are essential due to Right-of-Way requirements. Key project elements include a risk level 2 SWPPP, 12 traffic control plans, 3,000 cubic yards of earthwork, 50,000 square feet of pavement and concrete removal, a 2,000-square-foot Mesa Block Wall, and over 5,100 linear feet of fencing. Additional improvements involve ADA curb ramps, concrete sidewalks, median construction, drain inlets, utility adjustments, fire hydrant relocation, HMA placement, bus boarding islands, full-depth reclamation, fog seal, micro-surfacing, polyester concrete overlay, and street light relocation. Other features include Caltrans traffic signal upgrades, rectangular rapid flash beacons, landscaping, bioswales, bioretention areas, protected bikeway barriers, thermoplastic striping and markings, and signage. This project also includes sensitive habitat areas where work was closely monitored to protect endangered species and completed on schedule, ensuring compliance before the nesting season began.
