Cleaned out the existing creek and installed a temporary by-pass during construction. Re-grade the creek and installed rocks at the toe-of-slope and constructed rock weirs. New trees and vegetation were planted and a natural erosion control techniques were implemented along the length of the creek. A pathway with block retaining walls was constructed for pedestrian access. During the project Ghirardelli Associates worked closely with the local nature group "Friends of the Five Creek".

Ghirardelli Associates provided a Resident Engineer for the reconstruction of this 4-acre lake rehabilitation project in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The project included demolition, dewatering, dredging, grading, installation of the lake membrane liner and clay seal materials, lake water circulation, lake aeration system, traffic control and drainage system. The project also included extensive landscaping, irrigation, tree work, landscape stonework, cobblestone paving, asphalt concrete, and concrete work for site accessibility improvements. The project required close monitoring and coordination to maintain compliance with Department of Fish and Game regulations and the Wildlife Management Plan for the Golden Gate Park - Lakes Rehabilitation Program. Careful coordination with the public was required due to close scrutiny by concerned citizens groups.

The Ghirardelli Associates team was the construction inspector for various public works construction projects throughout the City of San Mateo. Reporting directly to the City's construction manager, Ghirardelli Associates provided inspection, project documentation and reporting for city encroachment permit work, monitoring wells, street resurfacing, sewer main installation, underground utilities, PCC sidewalk and curb replacement, and driveway permit inspection.

Project requirements: Provide management, inspection, and occasional secretarial services for the construction of capital improvement projects for Fiscal Year 02/03. Services will include oversight of services to be provided by design engineers and construction contractors for street, park, drainage, and building facilities.

Ghirardelli Associates provided inspection services on this citywide project to repair the sidewalks and install handicap ramps at various locations throughout the city. Work included traffic control, removal of concrete, grading, and placement of concrete to match existing adjacent areas. Extensive public contact was required to insure the contractor's work did not impede public access to resident's homes and businesses. The Ghirardelli Associates team was also the contract administration for this project, tracking quantities, negotiating change orders and providing ongoing project status to the city engineer.

Ghirardelli Associates provided public works inspection on various public works construction projects throughout the city performing inspections, construction administration, public contact response, coordinating materials testing and problem resolution with design engineers on various storm drain improvement sewer line installation, roadway resurfacing, concrete construction and replacement for curbs, gutters and sidewalks. Work was coordinated with PG&E, California Water Service, TCI Cable, the City of San Mateo sewer and maintenance crews, businesses adjacent to the project site as well as homeowners along project limits.

City of San Mateo needed a SWPPP designed and implemented for their landfill closure project. Ghirardelli Associates provided permit coordination, SWPPP plans, and field inspection of the work.

This City of San Rafael interchange project widened Union Street and added a turn lane.  Project Scope:  Replaced traffic signals.  New underground utilities joint trench installation (electrical and communications).  Replaced sewer mainline.  Relocated storm drains and upgrades drainage inlets.  Removal and replacement of curb, gutters and sidewalks with ADA curb ramps.  Asphalt overlay with sub-grade repairs (deep lifts).  Masonry retaining wall.  New landscaping and irrigation.
